Both hailing from a rural farm town in South Dakota, Gary and Jan's journey together began when they tied the knot and later set their sights on Minnesota in 1962.

Upon their arrival, Gary swiftly secured a position as a floor installer. Over time, he serendipitously transitioned into the world of carpet buying and selling, starting with humble beginnings from their home and eventually establishing a small storefront in Spring Lake Park. Through a few relocations, their enterprise flourished, mirroring the growth of their own family.

Amidst challenges and economic fluctuations, Gary and Jan have remained steadfast in nurturing the business they painstakingly built from scratch all those years ago.

Today, Gary and Jan celebrate 23 successful years of entrepreneurial endeavor. Their engagement in their church and the joy of spending quality time with their expansive and ever-expanding family is a testament to their fulfilled lives. Beyond business, their days are a whirlwind of activity – from cherishing moments with their four daughters, to delighting in the presence of their 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
